Who we are
Brooklyn, Pretoria. But that's not what sets us apart.
Brookside Hall sits two minutes from the University of Pretoria and five minutes from Hatfield Gautrain. The location is excellent. But where we stand on a map isn't what brings men here — or what keeps them talking about the place long after they graduate.
We're a men's residence with a specific conviction: that your university years are too valuable to spend only in lecture halls and libraries. The degree matters. So does who you become while you're earning it. Brookside is built around that belief.
The Brookside difference

The personal approach.
You're not a room number. Every resident is known by name, engaged with individually, and supported through his university years by staff who care about more than rent collection. The community is small enough that nobody disappears.
Comprehensive formation.
University provides the degree. Brookside provides the rest. Cultural events, professional workshops, study support, sport, and personal development programmes run alongside standard residence life — because a good career is built on more than a transcript.

This isn't a marketing promise. It's how the residence is run, what staff are hired to do, and what programmes are built around.
- 1. Aim for excellence. — In your studies, your sport, your side projects — we encourage you to set the bar high and take it seriously.
- 2. Dream bigger than your degree. — University is four years. Your life is much longer. We push residents to widen their horizons and build ambitions that outlast their studies.
- 3. Grow through responsible freedom. — Not rules, but character. We develop men who make good decisions because they want to — not because someone is watching.
- 4. Develop as a person. — Leadership, maturity, presence. The formation Brookside offers goes well beyond study skills — it's the full picture of becoming a capable man.

Brookside Hall is an initiative of Imfunda Social Integration and Sport NPC. Inspired by Christian values and open to all male students of any background or faith. Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, provides chaplaincy and formation support to those residents who wish to participate.
